The last jobs report for 2020 was released on Friday and despite how much Donald Trump proclaimed that he built the best economy ever the numbers still look abysmally bleak.
Hiring is so slow that it could take another 40 months for the job market to fully recover from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the economy added 245,000 jobs in November. It was 224,000 fewer than economists had expected and a massive slowdown from the 610,000 jobs added in October.
So what does that mean for African American workers who traditionally have worse numbers? Benguh Ajiloray, Senior Economist for the Center for American Progress spoke with Roland about the disappointing jobs numbers and reveled an alarming statistic about Black unemployment that should have the entire African American community crying foul and demanding more not only from the federal government but also from the private sector.
