A new analysis by investigative news journal ProPublica,demonstrates billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk benefited from tax code loopholes in the United States, based on documents from the Internal Revenue Service. The 25 richest Americans paid little in federal income taxes between 2014 to 2018, and in 2018, they collectively paid only 0.17% of their wealth in taxes. Charles Blow spoke with Robert Reich, former United States Secretary of Labor and author of “The System: Who Rigged It, How We Fix It,” about the information revealed by the documents.
