After 66 years, the Justice Department officially closed its investigation into Emmett Till’s murder, without any accountability and charges.
The Black teenager was abducted, tortured and killed for allegedly whistling at a white woman in 1955.
The FBI began looking into possible charges against that woman after the book, “The Blood of Emmett Till” quoted Carolyn Bryant Donham as saying she lied about Till grabbing her and whistling at her.
Donham and her family claim she never recanted her accusations.
No one has ever been convicted in the 14-year-old’s brutal murder even though two white brothers confessed to killing Till in an interview.
