“Prime” host Charles Blow sits down with Rev. Dr. Stephany Spaulding, founder of the Truth and Conciliation Commission, to discuss liberals pushing to eliminate the filibuster, despite pushback from two Democratic senators.
“I think we have to collectively push on [Senators Joe] Manchin and [Krysten] Sinema because we will not get anything done when we control the House and control the Senate,” Spaulding says. “We have a president in place who wants to make good on the promises that were made on the 2020 campaign trail.”
She continues, “without eliminating the filibuster, we are left just sitting and not being able to move forward a democracy that people across this country are demanding.”
