Republicans and Republican backed groups have stepped up their attacks on Vanita Gupta and Kristen Clarke in a brazen attempt to detail their Department of Justice nominations.
Sen. Ted Cruz accused Gupta of being an “extreme partisan advocate” and an ideologue, peppering her with questions on abortion rights, the Second Amendment and whether she supported defunding the police.
Republicans are also using attack ads to block Gupta and Clarke from being confirmed. Roland Martin Unfiltered panelist Tricia “CK” Hoffler said the GOP’s attacks are an “exercise in lunacy.”
