According the AP, Democrats are slashing HBCU funding from a proposed $42 billion to $2 billion under the latest Biden spending plan.
Newsweek reported: “Historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) that were looking forward to $45 billion in funding may be faced with just $2 billion under the Biden administration’s multitrillion-dollar spending plan, a result of Democratic infighting, the Associated Press reported.”
Many say this report is factually incorrect. On Wednesday, Roland Martin spoke with Victor Santos, Senior Director of Government Relations for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund about the AP report that claims billions are being stripped away from the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
