Famine Impacting Ethiopia’s Tigray Region, Tanzanian President Receives COVID-19 Vaccine


In the African diaspora, famine is impacting the lives of 400,000 people in the conflict-raging region of Tigray in Ethiopia.

In Tanzania, President Samia Suluhu Hassan is jumpstarting a nationwide vaccination initiative by publicly getting the vaccine. This decision is in contrast to former President John Magafuli, who passed away in March, and told officials to stop reporting information on COVID-19. Hassan has been more proactive in her approach to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
