The Senate Homeland Security Committee released a 127-page report, which shows the Capitol Police’s intelligence division was aware of social media posts about the January 6 insurrection as early as mid-December. Yet, Capitol Police still did not anticipate the violent attack and the acting police chief told congressional investigators there were no specific, credible threats.
