Gabby Portis: School Administrators Need To Take Issues of African American Students More Seriously

After facing racial attacks from fellow students, an Indiana mother pulls her child out of school.

Gabby Portis, an International school of Indiana student, says she was sent a photo of a white hand holding a bouquet of stemmed cotton balls with a caption that read, “when you ask a Black girl to prom.”

However, the teen claims this isn’t the first time she’s been subject to racial abuse. Her mother says the school offered her child counseling.
