A grand jury in Texas has indicted 19 Austin, Texas police officers on charges of aggravated assault for their actions during the 2020 protests following the murder of George Floyd.
According to local reports more than 30 people had to be hospitalized during that week as most of their injuries were the result of being shot by bean bag rounds. Those rounds are supposed to be non-lethal but clearly still can cause significant damage.
This ranks among the most indictments on a single police department in U.S. history.
