Harvey Weinstein is being extradited to California to face more sexual assault charges and currently is serving a 23-year-sentence in New York. Weinstein was convicted of rape and criminal sex acts last year.
Candace Kelley is on “Start Your Day” to explain the new charges. Weinstein is facing up to 140 years for 11 counts of sexual assault. Right now, there are five women ready to testify against Weinstein. Weinstein’s attorneys wanted to delay the trial due to COVID-19 and their clients current health conditions. Weinstein is expected to appear in court today.
Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year sentence. If he is convicted, the judge will find a facility where he can serve both jail terms at the same time. Either way, Weinstein is 69 years old, and with his 23-year sentence, he is expected to spend the remainder of his life in prison.
All this and more on “Start Your Day.”
