Historical Significance of Ketanji Brown Jackson Being on SCOTUS

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson made history today when President Joe Biden made it official by announcing her nomination for the U.S. Supreme Court.

She is the first Black woman ever nominated to sit on the nation’s highest court. Currently, Jackson sits on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.

She is a former public defender and served as vice chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission. Jackson once clerked for outgoing Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, whom she would replace if confirmed.

BNC legal contributor Paul Henderson, trial attorney Monique Pressley and attorney CK Hoffler join Yodit Tewolde on β€œMaking the Case” to discuss the historical significance of this moment.

All this and more on β€œMaking the Case.”
