House Passes Bill To Combat Islamophobia After Boebert’s Remarks

The House passed legislation aimed at fighting Islamophobia, sponsored by Rep. Ilhan Omar.

The chamber voted 219-212 to establish a special envoy within the State Department to monitor and combat Islamophobia around the world.

The legislation comes after progressives pushed to have Rep. Lauren Boebert stripped of her committee assignments for her racist and Islamophobic attacks on Omar.

Dalia Fahmy, professor of political science at Long Island University, joins guest host Laverne McGee on “Prime” to provide some insight into this topic.
