How the KKK Extended Circle of Hatred Beyond Black People

In this special edition of β€œPrime,” Charles Blow talks to Linda Gordon, a history professor at New York University, about how the Ku Klux Klan developed agendas to increase societal tension, and how they expanded their terror beyond the reach of Black people.

β€œThe Klan’s anti-Black sentiment was just one tool used to draw in prospects. As an organization, the Klan took it upon itself to define who is and what was β€˜American,’ and chose to terrorize anything and anyone who countered their moral beliefs and what they thought an American should be,” Blow says.

All this and more on β€œPrime.”
