BNC’s Derrick Lewis gives us an update from Baton Rouge about Hurricane Ida. He points to the Interstate 10 above the Mississippi River, where there was bumper to bumper traffic to get out of Baton Rouge before the storm makes its way into town.
Lewis talks about the current conditions in Baton Rouge by acknowledging the winds picking up, as well as the trees swaying back and forth. The grey clouds in the skies are starting to move towards Baton Rouge, which indicates that this storm is quickly making its way to the city.
The worse isn’t here yet, but people need to brace themselves for the storm that will be coming to Baton Rouge. Lewis says, “Here on the ground in Baton Rouge we haven’t seen many people out here, nor cars.”
