A jury awarded nine victims involved in the 2017 Charlottesville, Virginia “Unite the Rally” more than $25 million dollars in damages.
Twelve people and five white supremacist and nationalist organizations were defendants.
The jury found that all of the defendants violated a Virginia state conspiracy law.
It also found that some defendants violated the state’s law prohibiting racial, religious, or ethnic harassment or violence.
However, the jury could not determine whether the defendants conspired to commit racially motivated violence.
