The trial for R&B singer R. Kelly is expected to begin on Aug. 9 in Brooklyn, New York.
The award-winning artist is looking at numerous federal charges of human trafficking, child porn, racketeering and obstruction of justice. He has faced allegations of sexual assault for over two decades. In 1994, he married the late singer Aaliyah at a secret wedding when she was 15 years old and he was 27, but the marriage was annulled.
Kelly was sued four separate times from 1996 to 2002, as his accusers called him out for having sex with them while they were underage. Those cases were settled out of court.
BNC legal contributor and veteran prosecutor Paul Henderson joins Sharon Reed on βMaking the Caseβ to discuss R. Kellyβs trial.
