
In Mississippi, a key figure in the state’s welfare spending scandal pleads guilty to federal fraud charges.
John Davis directed Mississippi’s welfare agency while it spent millions in federal welfare money on projects investigators say were improper. Those projects include a new volleyball facility former NFL quarterback Brett Favre requested that would benefit his daughter.
Davis agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud and theft. He’s facing up to 15 years in prison.
