Louisiana Reinstates Mask Mandate Amid Surge in COVID-19 Cases


Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has regretted signing a law to ban local mask mandates, as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in his state.

This could be an indication that America had declared victory from the pandemic prematurely. The most contagious Delta variant continues to surge and as a result, there is a increased effort to get people vaccinated. Only 49.5% of the American population is vaccinated.

The state of Louisiana has brought back its mask mandate due to the low rate of vaccinations and climbing number of cases. Sharon Weston Broome, mayor of Baton Rouge, joins Charles Blow to talk about the conditions in her city and state.
