Massive Search and Rescue After Building Collapse in Miami


BNC correspondent Astrid Martinez reports in Surfside, Miami where crews have been working around the clock to locate survivors in the rubble of this collapsed building.

Surfside firefighters and structural engineers were working in the basement of the towers to determine which spaces were safe to go into, and potentially locate any possible victims. The latest number from Miami-Dade are 102 people have been accounted for, 99 are unaccounted for, 37 were rescued from the structure, and 2 were pulled out from the rubble when the building came falling down. The building was early on in its recertification process, which happens after forty years.
