
In a new Wall Street Journal opinion piece titled, βWhy Iβm Backing Charter Schools,β mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg announced he is launching a five-year, $750 million effort to expand charter schools in the U.S.
He says his five-year plan will create 150,000 more seats for students and will focus on 20 metro areas, including New York City.
