Microsoft & HBCU CONNECT Host Diversity Recruitment Event for Black Professionals in Dallas!

HBCUCONNECT.COM and long-standing partner, MICROSOFT, pulled off another stellar event at the historic “House of Blues” in downtown Dallas, Texas on April 14th, 2019. Hosting black professionals with career experience aligned with the tech giant’s hiring profiles, the attendee list included Microsoft leadership, recruiters, hiring managers, and of course, the HBCUCONNECT Team!

As guests arrived at the “House of Blues” they were greeted by the HBCU CONNECT and Microsoft team and a vibrant buzz coming from the event hall as attendee’s networked, snacked on light appetizers, and registered for the event in anticipation of the evening’s festivities.

The Microsoft team assembled for an interactive panel discussion driven by panel questions submitted by the candidates prior to the event. With over 50 attendees on hand, the team answered a variety of questions ranging from, life at Microsoft as a black professional to the three qualities that hiring managers look for in candidates for their respective organizations.

Panel discussions wrapped up an hour into the night, giving guest an opportunity to network and build rapport with one another in the cozy buzzing atmosphere of the “House of Blues”. By the end of the evening the Microsoft Team had lined up a significant number of next day interviews from an incredible group of candidates residing in the Dallas market. While exact interview and hiring numbers are typically not shared with the public, all parties were excited with the results of the evening.

“We love to do events like this with companies like Microsoft because the candidates that attend are given a real opportunity to land a job with a great company, and Microsoft consistently interviews and hires a significant number of candidates from our joint diversity recruitment events” said Will Moss, CEO of HBCUCONNECT.COM.
