Morehouse program helps Black men to complete their education

Morehouse College launches an online program offering reduced tuitions to Black men who have some college credit.

The all-male institution in Atlanta hopes that the flexibility will allow students to set their own pace without following a typical pace.

“We found ourselves thinking and saying we offer the only private education for black men,’ Morehouse Provost Dr. Kendrick Brown. “We want to be able to expand that to other folks who are not able to come here and provide a world-class education that we certainly, sorely need right now.”

According to Brown, he hopes that the university will be to tap into the near-two million lives of black men who may not be the traditional student or just simply unable to finish their college education. The school will charge about $600 per course credit, cutting the cost for online students by about half.

Enrollment is expected to begin this spring.
