A Bob Marley classic is getting a 2021 update. Nakkia Gold’s “Justice(GetUp, Stand Up)” with Wiz Khalifa and The Wailers is a twist on his classic tune. Gold joined “Start Your Day” with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to discuss the song. Gold said Bob Marley spoke about peace and love, and she thinks it is something the whole world needs. Citing her experiences growing up in Los Angeles and struggling, she said, “Me as a product of South Central, we can do whatever it is we want to do.” Gold said she received the blessing from Marley’s family and the single changed her life.
