Roland Martin recently spoke with Rev. Dr. Robert Turner, pastor of the Historic Vernon Chapel A.M.E. Church, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the only edifice which survived the 1921 Race Massacre on Greenwood.
During their chat, Turner discussed the 1921 Tulsa race massacre, how the church survived the onslaught of white domestic terrorist and was a place of refuge for the Black survivors of the heinous race inspired attack.
Rev. Dr. Turner also reminded viewers that Tulsa needs to repair the harm the city caused, he also reminded American that “this nation has yet to repair the harm from her original sin …”
