A new legal battle is emerging between Jay-z and Damon Dash over the streaming rights to Jay-Z’s first album “Reasonable Doubt.” Justice Correspondent Candace Kelley is back for another edition of “Open and Shut.”
Dash is alleging that Jay-Z transferred the rights to his debut album illegally. According to Kelley, the one page filing came down on Tuesday and says that Jay-Z doesn’t own the streaming rights to “Reasonable Doubt.” The rights belong to the company and because of this, Dash feels like he should be a part of the decision-making process. Dash is suing Jay-Z for $1 million and there are reports that he is broke. Kelley goes on to explain that we aren’t sure why Dash is suing Jay-Z, but what is certain is that each of them own a third of the company and publishing rights.
