When it comes to crafting new bills to disenfranchise voters, the state of Georgia is leading the way, but there are at least 42 other states that have seen new legislation introduced to suppress voters this year.
Last week, Republican Senators proposed to ban early voting on Sundays.
This week, they’ve introduced a bill that would repeal no-excuse absentee voting, allowing only a small group of voters — who are over the age of 65, disabled or out of town — to vote by mail.
If passed, these laws could turn Georgia into one of the strictest states in the country for voting.
Cliff Albright, Co-Founder, Black Voters Matter spoke with Roland Martin about the GOP’s blatant attempt to block access to the ballot box.
