As of Monday there were 12.4 million cases of COVID-19 in the United States and 257,000 people have died from the cronavirus.

Despite all of the warnings Infection rates continue to rise across the country.

In preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday, medical professionals are cautioning people against traveling and large gatherings.

States are tightening restrictions to try to stop the surging numbers and on Monday, a third drug company announced a vaccine has shown to be effective and cheaper.

Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, President and Dean of the Morehouse School of Medicine and Dr. Ebony Hilton, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Virginia spoke with Roland Martin about the exploding infection rates, the rising death toll and what do we need to to do to protect ourselves during Thanksgiving and the entire holiday season.
