A Los Angeles Police officer wrote an open letter to LeBron James inviting him to talk about policing and race. This letter is in response to the NBA star’s deleted tweet that showed a picture of the officer that shot and killed Ma’Khia Bryant in Columbus, Ohio. The tweet included the words “You’re next. #Accountability.” Officer Deon Joseph joined “Start Your Day” with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to discuss his letter to James. Joseph said he was a fan of LeBron James and he was “disheartened” by a letter. Citing his experience almost shooting a teenager, he said his life could have been ruined if James had tweeted about him. “We have to be careful what we say,” Joseph said.
