Radio's Joe Madison on Ending Hunger Strike in Fight for Voting Rights

Someone who has been sacrificing his health in the fight for voting rights is legendary radio show host Joe Madison. At 72 years old, he recently announced he ended his hunger strike after a remarkable 74 days.

He released this statement when the voting rights bill died in the Senate, saying, “I say to the Republicans in the Senate…You have gained a temporary victory. Republicans are now the political party of voter suppressionists. You have now awakened a sleeping giant. You’ve awakened a younger and a new generation of advocates and activists that are now resolved to fight this battle.”

Madison joins Charles Blow on β€œPrime” to discuss.

All this and more on β€œPrime.”
