President Elect Joe Biden and Vice President Elect Kamala Harris met virtually with Civil Rights Leaders on Tuesday amid concerns of their cabinet not having enough diversity.
During the meeting the groups touched on racial equity, social justice and what increased diversity in the Biden-Harris Cabinet would look like.
In an interview prior to meeting with the civil rights groups Biden said “their job is to push me and my job is to keep my commitment and make the decisions.”
Rev. Al Sharpton said in a media briefing after the meeting. “So it is not even just about going forward—we must repair this damage that has been done by [the Trump] Administration.”
