Republican Vote to Oust Representative Liz Cheney Expected

Representative Liz Cheney, the number three House Republican, is on the chopping block. A vote is expected Wednesday to boot her out from her leadership position. Cheney has been a vocal GOP critic of former President Donald Trump and she challenged his benefit to the party. BNC Washington D.C. Correspondent Bofta Yimam joined “Start Your Day” with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to give the latest on this developing story. If a member calls for a vote of no confidence against Cheney during Wednesday’s regular meeting and decides to move quickly, a secret ballot voting process will occur. A simple majority would be needed to remove her from the position and Representative Elise Stefanik of New York is expected to replace Cheney.
