Republicans have placed Black lawmakers nationwide in their crosshairs and have waged a flat-out attack on their seats through gerrymandering.
In the redrawing of congressional maps, several Black Democrats have been pushed into districts where either the Black voting pool has been severely diluted, or they are forced to run against other Democratic incumbents. The end result has become less political power for Black communities.
Dr. Niambi Carter, associate professor of political science at Howard University, joins Charles Blow on “Prime” to discuss.
