Rev. Al Sharpton Discusses Impact of Trayvon Martin’s Death


Feb. 26 will mark 10 years since 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was confronted and ultimately shot and killed by then 28-year-old George Zimmerman.

His death sparked outrage throughout Black America and eventually spotlighted both vigilantism and policing as Zimmerman wasn’t a law enforcement officer.

Charles Blow had the opportunity to speak with civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton on “Prime” about Trayvon Martin, the role played in getting Zimmerman charged and his communication with President Barack Obama during the fight for Martin.
