Roland Martin and Leah Fleming, Georgia Public Broadcasting Morning Radio Host appeared on MSNBC with Alex Witt to discuss the fallout of the fatal police shooting of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks.
24 hours after the deadly incident, Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields stepped down from her job, the Atlanta police officer who shoot Brooks was fired early Sunday and after a series of protests the Wendy’s where the 27-year-old lost his life was burned down.
Citing a number of high profile police killings of African Americans, Roland reminded America that Blacks are “deathly afraid when cops are called because we might end up dead”.
Prior to these remarks, Roland responded to HUD Sec. Ben Caron’s comments about the Brooks shooting telling the one-time Republican presidential candidate to “shut the hell up” because “he shouldn’t be talking about something you have no idea about.
