Roland Martin: GOP Tributes To John Lewis 'Worthless' Until The Voting Rights Act Is Passed

Roland Martin and Nikole Hannah-Jones, Pulitzer Prize-winning creator of the New York Times’ 1619 Project appeared on MSNBC with host Ali Velshi to discuss the passing of civil rights icon, Congressman John Lewis.

Republicans are lauding the legacy of Rep. Lewis, but Roland says not so fast. Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has A bill that would restore the Voting Rights Act sitting on his desk and refuses to bring the bill up for a vote.

Roland called out Republicans saying, “I don’t want to hear any Republican today laud Congressman John Lewis, when sitting on his desk is a bill to fix the Voting Rights Act … John Lewis died with that bill sitting on McConnell’s desk.”
