School Mask Debate Heats up, Local School Boards Defy Governors’ Anti-Mask Orders

With the 2021-2022 school beginning, the anti-mask uproar is intensifying.

School board meetings all around America are exploding into heated arguments over kids being required to wear masks indoors.

A number of states like Texas and Florida are banning mask requirements in schools, even as pediatric coronavirus cases are on the rise. Pediatric cases represented 15% of all new cases last week.

Broward County, Florida school board member Nora Rupert, ACLU Tennessee policy director Brandon Tucker and Travis County, Texas Judge Andy Brown, join Charles Blow on “Prime” to discuss the battle of mask mandates.
