Newly released video shows a sheriff’s deputy kick a man in the head in a San Bernardino mall parking lot. The video shows a Black man, 33-year-old Willie Jones, being compliant to the officer’s commands by surrendering on the ground. The officer, Deputy Corie Smith, proceeded to kick Jones in the head rendering him unconscious, and continues to kick Jones before taking him into custody.
Jones and criminal defense attorney Zulu Ali joins “Making the Case with Yodit” to analyze the video in question and next moves to be made. Deputy Smith was immediately put on administrative leave, and no reason for the initial arrest was ever given to Jones.
