Sha’Carri Richardson, Kamila Valieva See Contrasting Results


During the 2020 Olympics, U.S. sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, the sixth fastest woman of all time, tested positive for weed during the Olympic trials as her misstep made her ineligible to compete in the summer games.

This week, 15-year-old Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva tested positive for multiple substances, one of which was banned. However, she was allowed to compete.

A reporter in Richardson’s home state of Texas wrote a piece in the Houston Chronicle about Richardson calling out a racial double standard.
