On day eleven of the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, George Floyd’s younger brother Philonise testified about the type of man George was. He spoke to the jury about how May should have been a great month because he got married, but it was filled with sorrow because George was killed one day after the wedding. Their mother then died a few days later. “Start Your Day” hosts Sharon Reed and Mike Hill discussed the Floyd family and all they’ve been through since George’s death. “These brothers are good people,” Reed said. “I see purity in this family and it makes me want to wrap my arms around them.”
