'Start Your Day' hosts, Matthew Fogg discuss unequal policing in Black communities

Body-camera footage from the attempted arrest of Daunte Wright was released and it shows the moment former officer Kim Potter shot him. Matthew Fogg, who has spent more than 30 years with the U.S. Marshall Service, joined “Start Your Day” with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to discuss police procedures. Fogg also worked with the DEA and he has been outspoken about unequal policing in different communities. When asked about the difference between a gun and taser, he said he tasers require a trigger pull similar to guns. “There is a problem,” he said and he admitted that officers are disproportionately more afraid of Black people than white people. He also said officers knew they could get away with violence against Black people that would not be accepted in white communities.
