Study: Opioid Overdose-Related Deaths Rise in Black Americans


Black Americans are overdosing on opioids at an alarming rate.

According to a new study in the American Journal of Public Health, nearly a 40% increase was found in opioid overdose-related deaths among Black people between 2018 and 2019, with no increase in other groups. Health experts are also citing the pandemic as a reason behind overall drug overdoses in 2020. Mental health speaker Darryll Stinson joins “BNC Live” to discuss the results of the study.
