The Senate confirmation hearing for associate attorney general nominee Vanita Gupta took place on Tuesday.
Gupta, who served as the former head of the civil rights division of the U.S. Department of Justice, attempted to mitigate Republican’s concerns during her opening statement but was grilled intensely by several Senators including Ted ‘Cancún’ Cruz.
