Tamika Mallory recalls her raw emotion speaking on George Floyd’s death

Sharon Reed talks to civil rights activist Tamika Mallory about the raw emotions she felt when speaking on George Floyd’s death last year.

Mallory said that her emotion was compounded by her visit earlier in the day in Kentucky when she was with the family of slain first responder Breonna Taylor, whose killing occurred two months before Floyd’s death.

Mallory says that “we will have hope every single time that the system will give us justice.”

In the “State of Emergency How we Win in the Country We Built” the author says that justice for Black people looks like accountability and having a system that is equal to everyone, including law enforcement.
