The National Football League has served as the perfect Thanksgiving Day dinner companion since 1934, when the Detroit Lions began playing home games on Turkey Day.
The Lions have kept that tradition and are playing the Chicago Bears today. Also on the schedule today is Las Vegas Raiders playing against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys have hosted Thanksgiving Day games since 1966 with the exception of occasions in the mid 1970s.
