The subject of critical race theory has been a polarizing issue for those who are against it.
The theory goes into the role racism plays within the constructs of systems and institutions. Several white parents believe that this theory will teach children that white people are racist and evil.
“While conservatives have turned critical race theory into a hot-button topic to galvanize their base, academics argue that critical race theory is being used as a guide to whitewash American history, that the debate is about something far more profound than the theory itself,” Charles Blow said.
Kendall Thomas, director of the Center for the Study of Law and Culture at Columbia University, joins Blow on “Prime” to discuss the critical race theory debate.
