Every week on βMaking the Case,β the show highlights missing Black girls and women.
There is good news about a Black teenager who was missing in Detroit, Michigan. Thirteen-year-old Za’Ria Wojtylko has been found safe and sound Saturday night. Her family was worried that she was taken by a person she met on Snapchat. Wojtylko was located safely by the Black and Missing Foundation.
Unfortunately, there is a missing Black woman in Houston, Texas. Twenty-year-old Shawtyeria Waites has been missing for two weeks. She was last seen celebrating her birthday with friends on July 27. Her family members have said that she met a man at a club and was invited to meet him at an address, which later turned out to be a vacant apartment.
Derrica Wilson from the Black and Missing Foundation joins Yodit Tewolde on βMaking the Caseβ to discuss the mental health issues surrounding missing persons and their families.
