This Is A Tragedy: 3 Mo. Old Killed In Shootout After As Many As 50 Cop Cars Chased Murder Suspect

In Mississippi, a three-month-old baby is dead after a shootout between the police and the child’s father.

After suspecting he killed his ex-girlfriend, officers pursued Eric Derell Smith, which was his child’s mother, and her nephew.

Knowing the baby was in the car, at least fifty police vehicles chased Smith for about two and a half hours from Baton Rouge Parish to Biloxi.

When Smith fired shots at officers, they fired back nearly twenty rounds. Smith was shot multiple times and died at the scene.

The baby was shot once and died at the hospital.
