Three former Philadelphia police officers are charged in connection to the wrongful imprisonment of a black man.
Officials say Frank Justlembski, Manuel Santiago, and Martin Devlin have been arrested and charged for perjury after their testimonies led to the wrongful conviction of Anthony Wright.
In 1993, Wright was convicted of the 1991 rape and murder of 77-year-old Louise Talley. He served 25 years in prison for the crime.
The Philadelphia District Attorney says the officers “did not ” record wright’s interrogation, and they also force him to sign documents that he never read.
