Republicans kicked off they national convention on Monday with a display of tokenism, highlighting people of color in their party but not addressing the top issues of the day that are important to African Americans and other people of color.
During Tuesday’s edition of #RolandMartinUnfiltered, Roland and his panel of guests discussed the optics of the first night of the RNC, the emphasis on rallying against “cancel culture” and aired highlights from all of the speakers of color on the docket.
Some of the speakers of color brought out to allegedly speak to African Americans included Kim Klacik, SC Democrat Vernon Jones, Sen. Tim Scott and former Governor Nikki Haley.
